Shoot 1 - Straight Images
I really like the image which has occurred from the editing above. It appears very ghostly and unnerving due to the persons face being selectively in black and white. The photograph was taken with a 0.6 second shutter speed. I like the way that the tree is in focus but the person is blurred as this creates the feeling of the figure being mysterious.
This was a photograph which I captured very early on in the shoot. I like the outcome after editing and think that it looks effective and presents a ghostly looking figure which was what I wanted to achieve as a result of my shoots. I really like the outcome and think that it is very bold. I also like the shapes created by the person due to the use of the long exposure technique.
For this image, I got my subject to stand directly in front of the camera and move up and down. This was effective as it gave the impression of a stationary ghostly figure. I like the way that this image is edited as I really think it helps to reinforce the ghostly element which I was trying to portray.
This image conveys a ghostly feeling as well due to the use of long exposure and the editing process. I like the way that the image appears to have two faces as this makes the image both interesting as well as slightly creepy. To achieve this image, I got my subject to jump up and down which therefore helped me to capture this effect.
This image is rather similar to the one above. I like the outcome and feel that it is very effective at showing 'the passing of time' through the use of long exposure. Also, it links well to the work of Alexey Titarenko due to the slightly creepy nature of the image as well as the black and white filter which I have integrated into my work.
With this image, I went for the same effect as my other images so that they worked as a sort of series. I like the image and think that the black and white figure works well with the vibrant greens which are present in the background. I like the outcome and feel that the image is successful at drawing in the viewers eye and attracting attention.
I like the outcome and think that it is very effective at presenting my topic of the passing of time in my inspirational artists style who is Alexey Titarenko. I like the outcome and feel that it also demonstrates the long exposure technique well. I like how the figure seems to be lurking and I think that this helps to make the overall image more interesting and makes for a successful image.
Below shows a few more straight images which are edited simply, by just adapting the curves and levels using Photoshop.
